• 09.06.10 : New Photo Gallery Peru.
  A selection of 48 images from my Peru trip in 2000. All photos were taken on color negative film and were scanned with my Nikon Super Coolscan 5000ED film scanner @ 4000dpi, which is good for 20 MP.
• 15.05.10 : Updating my References.
  Participation in the 4-Seasons.de Photo contest "Best Outdoor picture". My picture "Cachoeira dos Cristais" finished in 2nd Place.
• 05.05.10 : Updating my References.
  A design bureau ordered two photos from Chile for a packaging design for animal feed.
• 12.04.10 : New Photo Gallery Kingdom of Tonga.
  A small selection of 30 pictures from the Kingdom of Tonga, including the gorgeous island of 'Eua with it's rainforest and steep coastline, Tongatapu with it's pretty rough surf (caused by Hurricane Tomas), and the impressive trilithon monoliths (similar to Stonehenge).

  Selection of 80 pictures from Fiji, where I spent several weeks in March 2010.
• 28.03.10 : New Photo Gallery Vanuatu.
  Just returned from my South Pacific trip, where I spent 5 weeks on the islands of Fiji, Vanuatu and Tonga. Starting with Vanuatu, here are 50+ pictures from the gorgeous islands of Tanna and Efate. In the next weeks I will also upload many photos of Fiji and Tonga. Stay tuned!
• 18.02.10 : New Photo Gallery Bolivia.
  40 images from one of my favorite countries in South America, Bolivia. Locations include El Camino de la Muerte (Death Road), Salar de Uyuni & Altiplano, Ascent of Huayna Potosi (6.088m), La Paz with Plaza Murillo and the Yungas with Coroico.
• 31.01.10 : Added 25 new photos to my USA section.
  Last week I scanned a few dozens slides from my USA trips in 2000 and 2002. The photos were taken mainly at the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, the Colorado Plateau and the Zion National Park.
• 24.01.10 : Country section Argentina
  Editing and uploading of 40 images from my Argentina trip in 2004, where I stayed for several days in the Los Glaciares National Park around El Calafate and El Chalten.
  Highlights include the Fitzroy Area with Laguna de los Tres, Lago Viedma, Cerro Torre & Monte Fitzroy, and the Calafate Area with the Perito Moreno, Speggazini and Upsala Glaciers including "Mini Trekking" (Glacier Tour).
• 18.01.10 : Country section Qatar
  Uploading the Qatar section with 48 pictures. The photos were taken during my stay in Doha between April and July 2006, where I joined the construction team of the Sports City Tower (later renamed to Aspire Tower) as a surveying engineer for Midmac Sixco. The 300+ meters high Aspire Tower is still the highest building in Qatar. Other locations include the Inland Sea (Khor Al Udaid), Umm Salal Fort, Al Khor, Al Wakrah, Sealine Resort, Red Bull Air Show, Power Boat World Cup Race, Corniche, Mercedes SLR Mclaren, Hummer, Sand Dunes Riding with Quads, and many more...
• 10.01.10 : Completion of the Chile section
  Adding the Chile chapters Lauca National Park & Salar de Surire (24 pics), Lake District (19 pics) with the Villarica and Llanquihue Lakes, and Patagonia (53 pics).

• 19.12.09 : Uploading the first part of my Chile photo category: The Atacama Desert
  55 completely new edited images from my two trips to the Atacama Desert in 2004 and 2005, including the spectacular landscapes of the Moon Valley (Valle de la Luna) and the Chilean Altiplano, as well as the picturesque lagunas Miscanti, Miniques, Talar and Tara. Over the next weeks I will complete the Chile section by adding the Norte Grande-, Patagonia- and Lake District- chapters. Stay tuned!
• 13.12.09 : Uploading photo category Thailand
  A selection of about 30 images from South Thailand, mainly from my 8 days stopover in Railay, Krabi 2009. The locations include beautiful Phra Nang Beach, the thrilling "Deep Water Soloing" and some secret spots.
• 09.12.09 : Updating my References.
  In addition to a 2nd Place in the GEO.de Photo Contest "Best Travel Picture 2009", I've got an order from a Swiss concept bureau regarding one of my photos of the "Inland Sea" in Qatar. The bureau was engaged by the Qatar Football Association to develop the so called "Bid Book", the official candidature of Qatar for the FIFA Soccer World Cup 2022.
• 30.11.09 : Updating my References.
  My picture "Once upon a time in Democratic Kampuchea" received an "Honorable Mention" Award during the "World Wide Photography Gala Awards 2009" contest.
• 24.11.09 : Upload of photo category Cambodia
  A selection of about 90 images from Cambodia, including both the Siem Reap region with the Angkor Temples, and the capital Phnom Penh with the infamous Tuol Sleng and the Killing Fields.
• 14.11.09 : Launch of www.karsten-rau-photography.com
  The first galleries are online! Until now Brazil, Rapa Nui and Hong Kong were completed, as well as the categories Personal Favorites, People & Nature, Architecture & man-made, Men at work and Sports & Action.
